35mm Film photography

In 2013 Imran received a surprise gift from his friend Anu Viirre and her family. The gift was a Fujuca ST606 SLR film camera along with different objectives & gears. This camera belonged to Anu's father Antti Niva.

Imran found a small list of names of places and buildings in the camera bag. After discussing with Anu, the artist learned that Antti did the construction work for those buildings during his lifetime. He made the list himself and left it in the camera bag. Probably because he knew he had terminal cancer. He wanted to photograph those places but before he managed to do that, he lost his battle with cancer in 1980.

For the upcoming few years, Khalid Imran would be traveling to western Finland in Kalajoki with Antti’s film camera following his footsteps and taking pictures of those places. Currently most of those place are either abandent or reconstructed.
